About Gloria Palacio

Born in Colombia, visual artist Gloria Palacio has lived and worked in Montreal since 2002. Painter and dedicated to printmaking with many years of professional activity and holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts from Panthéon-Sorbonne I University, she also attended painting workshops at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.

Since 1983, Palacio has exhibited her work individually and collectively, both in Canada and abroad. She has participated in many international printmaking biennials and triennials. In 1989, she won the prize for engraving at the Summer Salon of the Groupe Artistique de la Haute Auvergne Saint-Flour exhibition in France.

Her work is part of many institutional collections such as the collection of the Gabrielle Roy Library, Quebec Canada. Museum of Modern Art Bogota, Colombia. Iasi Art Museum, Museum, National Banat Timişoara, and Prahova Art Museum in Romania. Paleologi Museum Italy. Insular de la Palma Museum and Art Collection Ribeira Engraving Museum in Spain. Bashkir Nesterov Museum, Russia. Art Gallery Boris Georgiev Varna, Bulgaria. Fundacion Hispanoamericana Cali, Colombia. Lauderhill Arts Center’s collection, USA.

As well as private collections in Canada, Colombia, Mexico, United States, France, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Belgium, England, China, Ecuador, Japan, Spain, Russia.

In 2017 she was invited to the "Art of the Americas" exhibition to represent Colombia as part of Canada's 150th-anniversary celebrations at City Hall Ottawa Canada

She is a member of Atelier Circulaire in Montreal, a center for artists in printed arts where she is a member and works on her latest projects.
